Ya son una alternativa real y necesaria para sustituir los veh\u00edculos de combusti\u00f3n que ahora ocupan nuestras ciudades y carreteras. No olvidemos que el transporte es actualmente el causante de casi una cuarta parte de las emisiones de CO<sub>2<\/sub> a la atm\u00f3sfera de nuestro planeta (un 22%, seg\u00fan la Agencia Internacional de la Energ\u00eda), y que el tr\u00e1fico rodado aporta un 78 % del ruido en las ciudades. Nadie duda, pues, que los efectos de sustituir masivamente los veh\u00edculos de combusti\u00f3n por unos de el\u00e9ctricos ser\u00edan muy beneficiosos para nuestra salud y la del planeta.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, debemos tener en cuenta de donde proviene la energ\u00eda que necesitamos para mover estos veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos. Los veh\u00edculos se desplazan gracias a las bater\u00edas, con una energ\u00eda que se ha generado previamente y almacenado a trav\u00e9s de la red el\u00e9ctrica. Y aqu\u00ed est\u00e1 el problema: actualmente las energ\u00edas renovables aportan a la red el 37,1% de la electricidad (datos de REE para el a\u00f1o 2015). Queda, pues, un largo camino por recorrer si queremos que los veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos se alimenten \u00fanicamente de energ\u00eda limpia y sostenible.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan el sector del veh\u00edculo el\u00e9ctrico, la necesidad de energ\u00eda para alimentarlos no supondr\u00e1 un problema. Sustituir un 10% de los veh\u00edculos actuales por veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos representa un incremento del 2% de la demanda de generaci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica. Si extrapolamos, pues, a un caso extremo (que deber\u00eda ser el objetivo) en que todos los veh\u00edculos fueran el\u00e9ctricos, supondr\u00eda un aumento en la demanda el\u00e9ctrica del 20%.
