AWS estima que esta instalaci\u00f3n generar\u00e1 cada a\u00f1o aproximadamente 670.000 megavatios a la hora (MWh) &#8220;o energ\u00eda suficiente para 61.000 hogares de Estados Unidos&#8221;. Amazon se ha fijado como objetivo que todas sus infraestructuras consuman solo energ\u00eda 100% renovable.<\/p>\n<p><a><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"foto_flota_izq\" title=\"Amazon tambi\u00e9n quiere ser 100% renovable\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.energias-renovables.com\/ficheroenergias\/fotos\/panorama\/ampliada\/n\/nube.jpg?w=1200\" alt=\"Amazon tambi\u00e9n quiere ser 100% renovable\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>AWS presume de que Amazon Wind Farm US East ser\u00e1 &#8220;la primera granja e\u00f3lica a gran escala de Carolina del Norte&#8221;. La compa\u00f1\u00eda quiere que la instalaci\u00f3n suministre energ\u00eda &#8220;a la red el\u00e9ctrica de los centros de datos AWS actuales y futuros&#8221;. La multinacional prev\u00e9 que el parque comenzar\u00e1 a verter electricidad a la red en diciembre del a\u00f1o que viene. El proyecto obedece al anuncio que Amazon hiciera en noviembre del a\u00f1o pasado, cuando hizo p\u00fablico su compromiso &#8220;de que a largo plazo el 100% de la energ\u00eda utilizada en la infraestructura global de AWS fuese renovable&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>En abril, el 25%<\/strong><br \/>\nAWS inform\u00f3 en el mes de abril que aproximadamente el 25% de la energ\u00eda consumida por su infraestructura global ya proced\u00eda de fuentes renovables. Adem\u00e1s, anunci\u00f3 entonces su &#8220;objetivo intermedio&#8221; de alcanzar el 40% a finales de 2016. Pues bien, en el comunicado que ha hecho p\u00fablico ahora para anunciar su proyecto e\u00f3lico, la multinacional explica que &#8220;sigue buscando nuevas formas de aumentar la eficiencia energ\u00e9tica en sus instalaciones y equipamientos&#8221;, y sigue creando proyectos &#8220;que incrementen la disponibilidad de recursos renovables en las redes el\u00e9ctricas que alimentan a los actuales y futuros centros de datos en Virginia y Ohio&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00e1s iniciativas<\/strong><br \/>\nSeg\u00fan AWS, el parque de Carolina del Norte viene a sumarse a estos otros proyectos renovables de la compa\u00f1\u00eda: granja e\u00f3lica en Indiana (Fowler Ridge), que generar\u00e1 500.000 MWh al a\u00f1o; proyecto piloto con bater\u00edas Tesla; adhesi\u00f3n al <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acore.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>American Council on Renewable Energy<\/strong><\/a> y al <a href=\"http:\/\/uspref.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>US Partnership for Renewable Energy Finance<\/strong><\/a> para trabajar con legisladores y dem\u00e1s actores del sector y para abrir oportunidades con energ\u00edas renovables a los proveedores Cloud; y anuncio en junio de 2015 del campo solar Amazon Solar Farm US East, que generar\u00e1 170.000 MWh al a\u00f1o.
