The Catalan company Concom dedicated among others to Engineering and Renewable Energies, based in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona), has designed a 32MWp solar energy park near the city of Hitachi (Japan) an equivalent power to supply about 130,000 homes, which they plan to finish in 2020.
Concom opened a subsidiary in Tokyo (Japan) in 2014 with the support of the Acció competitiveness agency and currently has fifteen new projects in the country worth 17 million euros, the Conselleria d’Empresa i Coneixament said in a statement on Sunday.
The solar plant in Hitachi, a city of about 200,000 inhabitants in the east of the country, is the largest project that the Catalan company has developed entirely in Japan and aims to promote renewable energy «in a country that is very aware of the need for use sustainable sources, «said Concom CEO Josep Padró.
Padró explained that from this plant «energy is supplied that can be consumed in other parts of the country, because it does not accumulate at a specific point, but travels through the network to where it is needed» to supply homes, businesses and stores.
Founded in 1996, Concom has about 50 employees and offices in Fracia, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Mexico and Taiwan, a country where in September it connected its first solar power plant, with 303 KW of power.
